Joe graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2016 with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. After graduating, Joe made the move to Toowoomba to work in the private hospital sector before transitioning into outpatient musculoskeletal care. He has been with Hip Sport Spine Physiotherapy since 2018. This year he has also been offering gameday physiotherapy services to the South West QLD Thunder Senior Women’s football team.
Joe enjoys treating clients with variety of conditions, and is especially interested in the management of knee problems and acute sporting injuries. With his background in exercise science he has worked with athletes from multiple sporting backgrounds to develop individualised strength and conditioning programs, manage their training loads and prevent injury.
Joe offers one-on-one hydrotherapy sessions at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre and Baillie Henderson Hospital to improve mobility, strength and balance, assisting with recovery from injury /surgery and falls prevention. He also provides home visits for those unable to travel due to r4educed mobility or driving restrictions after orthopaedic surgery.
He participates in treatment plans for clients managed under a WorkCover claim, working closely with local GPs and specialists to assist with return to work. Joe has worked on medical and intensive care hospital wards and has a good understanding of the impact chronic disease has on physical activity. He offers reduced consultation rates for client who have been referred by their GP with a Medicare – Chronic Disease Management Plan.
